Wrap dress by Diane Von Furstenberg made from a camel coloured jersey. The dress is knww legth, has a slim fit and long sleeves which end in a exaggerated cuff. The dress has a collar dertail and a pronounced seam detail at the rear yoke which extends round the front, ending at the upper chest. Two small diagonal pleats are placed just below the tie of the dress to emphasise the wrap effect of the dress. The dress is unlined and the store label is stitched to the inside of the collar. The wrap dress was first produced by Diane von Furstenberg in 1974 and was seen as a symbol of liberation, comfort and empowerment for women. Designed to be a practcle and comfortable dress, it was intended to take the wearer seamlessly from day to night. von Furstenberg discribes this dress as a uniform for freedom. Millions of itirations have been sold, and it is still being produced today.
