Jacket purchased from the renowned Boston tailoring store, F.L.Dunne & Co. The store is known to have existed as early as 1800 with examples housed at the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan. The longline jacket is made from a grey wool with darker grey stripes woven in a large checked pattern. The jacket is relatively unstructured with small pads at the shoulders and a large patch pocket at each side of the central opening. The jacket is closed with two small buttons. The jacket is lined at the shoulders alone mushroom coloured stripped silk to which the store label is stitched.
