Evening coat by Norman Norell made from a red and gold brocade fabric. The fabric is woven to resemble a checked print - one square red with gold markings throughout and the next gold with red markings. The coat has an 'A' line cut and a small rounded collar. It is fastened at the center front with a row of four large plastic red buttons. On each side of the coat opening is a large patch pocket. There is no shoulder seam which creates a softer silhouette, and the sleeves are wide and end with a wide turned back cuff above the wrist. The coat is lined in red satin and the store label is stitched to the lining at the neckline.
